The course at Dunmurry Springs is a masterpiece of design that tests the advocates of golf, both professional and amateur. This beautifully manicured course requires skill, tactics and bravery but will reward those that give the course the respect it deserves. The course, combined with its new clubhouse and welcoming restaurant with wholesome Irish food, makes Dunmurry Springs a must visit on any golf itinerary.
Dunmurry Springs is a classic piece of golf architecture in the mould of the great romantic courses, such as Gleneagles and Royal Birkdale, but with a distinctly Irish blend. It combines traditional design philosophies utilising the natural springs, movement and grasses of the land with some of the most spectacular views in the midlands. Dunmurry Springs is establishing itself as a "real golfers' golf course". The prestigious US Golfer Magazine voted this course one of the 10 best new courses in Europe in 2005 and, the following year, HSBC rated it in the top 25 courses in Ireland.
Skill, tactics and bravery reward those that give the course the respect it deserves. Multiple tee positions facilitate all categories of golfer, with the championship tee positions demanding exceptional strategic shot-making. The views of the seven surrounding counties are most impressive out by Dunmurry Springs's own Amen Corner of the sixth, seventh and eighth holes. Designer Mel Flanagan has provided a dramatic, but playable challenge.
