The Mountain Biking Club in the University Of Limerick, County Limerick, was founded in September 1998 to cater for the needs of the growing community of mountain bikers in the university and the surrounding area.

The aim of Mountain Biking University of Limerick is to promote mountain biking as a fun recreational activity, both in University of Limerick and beyond. From humble beginnings, with about three-four cyclists on each outing, they have grown to the extent where they routinely have up to fifteen cyclists out every week, whatever the weather. They have also expanded their activities to include racing as well as recreational rides.

The main club activity is a cycle every Sunday, leaving from the Boathouse on the University of Limerick campus at about 11:00am. The cycle usually covers about 45-55km at a leisurely pace, taking less than 4 hours.

Membership is open to students/staff/alumni of University of Limerick and to anyone else over 18. If you don't already have one, the club has a limited number of bikes and helmets which can be loaned to members.
