Foleys Tea Rooms and Antique Shop
Castlebellingham, Co. Louth
Unique 18th century family run thatched cottage in Castlebellingham, famous for home cooking and friendly service, child friendly, al fresco patio dining and pet rabbit, open fire in winter, a haven of curios and antiques.

On the main street of the picturesque village of Castlebellingham is the award winning Foley's Tea Rooms, although it is truly more than a tea rooms, famous for its full Irish breakfast, bacon and cabbage and probably one of the best quiche around. Voted as one of the best places to have brunch on radio 2FM. The proprietor, Joe is the stuff of legends, a warm, friendly host with a great sense of humour, a gentleman, he has been setting the barre for the atmosphere in his family run premises for almost 20 years and the result is fabulous food, service and hospitality.

The outside is real picture postcard Ireland, thatched roof, thick stoned walls and painted wooden Windows adorned with flowers and hanging baskets. The patio area is a Sun trap and a beautiful place to dine al fresco, it is also a gardeners paradise and has a resident pet bunny.

Inside the tasteful decor is comfortable and welcoming with a roaring fire and stove in the colder months. Both the breakfast and lunch menu have something for everyone and they are happy to deter from the menu if you should need to (but you won't!) afternoon tea and scones or toasted panninis are delicious too.

Four doors down in the old butcher's shop is Foleys antiques and curio shop... What a joy and in such an unusual string with tiled floor, brick walls and original butcher's hookshanging from the ceiling. Do not miss the gem that is Foleys.
