Shelling Hill/Templetown
Carlingford, Co. Louth
Templetown, called after the crusading ‘Knights Templars’, fronts one of Louth's most popular but as yet, unspoilt stretch of coastline. It is located in Carlingford and is ideal for families, swimming, walking, kite surfing and many more activities.

Templetown beach is a sandy, sheltered beach protected on each side by low level rock promontories. It is ideal for young families and visitors to the beach can swim, walk, kite surf and take part in many other water sports.

The beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season and more information can be found on the notice board located at the beach.

There is a car park at the beach and toilet facilities are provided.

Tips from locals

After your stroll on the beach why not take the short spin over to Carlingford Medieval Town and explore some more.
