Cong Canal
Cong, Co. Mayo
The Cong Canal extends from Ballinchalla Bay on Lough Mask towards Cong in County Mayo. It is regarded as a good brown trout fishery with the average weight of the trout is probably 2lb.

Trout angling along the Cong Canal is best between Lough Mask and Cahernagawer Bridge on the Cong-Ballinrobe Road and is particularly good for dry fly at the outlet from the lake in June, July and August, giving up trout to 6lb.

The fishing is regarded as free, but where it is necessary to cross private lands, anglers should consult the riparian owner.

Open Season runs from 1 March to 30 September.
