Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant is located right beside Go Explore Hostel. Originally the House of the O’Donnell’s, landlords of the Clew Bay area in the mid 1800s, the hostel/bar/restaurant sits on top of a small cliff surrounded by open Atlantic waters.
Boasting stunning views from every aspect, the bar and restaurant serves delicious meals to a lively background of traditional music, dancing and banter.
Sailor’s Bar attracts musicians, singers and dancers from around the country and indeed around the world. Travelling musicians are always welcome to join in on music sessions so bring your guitar.
With stunning evening views across the bay to the mainland and great pints of Guinness, Sailor’s Bar is the place to wind down after a busy day exploring the island.
Every weekend they host live music, from trad to rock bands to acoustic sessions.
Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant specialises in locally sourced foods such as fresh Pollock and Mackerel which they catch every morning and vegetables, some of which they grow themselves and some they source from other islanders. Some say that Sailor’s Bar has the most spectacular view in all of Ireland, one which can be viewed from every table in the restaurant.
