Exhibition: In Search of Colmcille
Kells, Co. Meath
19 November - 18 December 2021
This art exhibition is the penultimate event in the national year of celebration for Colmcille 1500, the anniversary year of the birth of St. Colmcille.

The exhibition represents the artist's journey, learning about Saint Colmcille in this year of the 1500th anniversary of his birth. Born in 521, the life of Colmcille has blended with the mists of time to generate a wealth of stories of miraculous power and humble spirituality, in his various guises of Prince, Poet, Priest and Exile. Colmcille is one of Ireland's national saints and this anniversary year is being celebrated nationally and throughout Scotland.

The Kells Colmcille 1500 committee is partnered with similar committees in Donegal, Derry and Iona to bring heritage and cultural events to communities and visitors. They are keen to showcase the wealth of heritage that Kells has to offer.
