I am Sitting in a Room - Exhibition
Navan, Co. Meath
18 June - 5 August 2022
The exhibition title based on a Alvin Lucier piece “I am Sitting in a Room”, in which the composer narrates a script, continually re-records each sounded recording on tape, until his voice is gradually replaced by the resonant frequencies of the room.

Theo McNab’s work chimes with sonic landscape in optical & perceptive play. Chloe Brennan uses the Theremin as a sensor of forces below human perception in “Different Dusts”, detecting subterranean leaks. Karl Burke’s new work is primarily concerned with inquiry into spatial nature & experience of sound, involving a site-specific sculpture/sound installation. Adam Gibney’s work acts as catalyst for digesting philosophical & societal conundrums. Sven Anderson draws from the music collection of late painter Derek Hill, transforming passages from classical & opera recordings.

Gallery: Tue - Sat, 11:00 - 16:00.
