Nestled in the Monaghan Drumlins of Ireland's Ancient East lies the beautifully restored Ulster Canal Stores, a traditional stone building located on the edge of Clones town, on the N54 Cavan Road, with excellent road links to Northern Ireland. There are guided heritage tours by prior arrangement through a host of ancient monuments including the Famine Graveyard and Round Tower. The on-site restaurant serves traditional Irish breakfasts, snacks and homemade meals.
Conference or workshop facilities are also available for up to 40 people. Dedicated staff are on hand to offer signposting to the rich heritage in the area, and monthly exhibitions, events and heritage talks take place. A permanent museum of handmade antique Clones lace is free to visit and each June The International Clones Lace Summer School takes place.
