American artist Kara Walker (born 1969) is a contemporary painter, silhouettist, print-maker, installation artist, and film-maker who explores race and gender in her work. She is best known for her room-size tableaux of black cut-paper silhouettes.
In this workshop, mentor Cian Laffey will take you through Walker's process and set a challenge.
This workshop is part of the Source Arts Centre's 'Y' Arts Programme. The ‘Y’ Arts Programme encourages young people aged between 13 to 18yrs to create new works of art using a task and challenge based approach.
