North Tipperary Wheelers is a cycling club based in Nenagh since 1987, open to welcoming new members. If you’re holidaying in the area, why not join one of the Sunday morning club spins, which leave from Kenyon Street car park at 9am?

North Tipperary Wheelers caters for every aspect of the cycling, from road cycling to road racing and mountain biking. At North Tipperary Wheelers, every level of cyclist is catered for and welcome.

You can join one of the three groups which cater for different abilities:

Green – caters for beginners and leisure cyclists with an average speed held between 20-24kph

Orange – caters for intermediate level riders with an average speed held between 25-27kph

Red – with a speed of 28+ kph for more experienced cyclists

Follow the steps below to get started:

• Contact the club to be sure your level can be catered for on the day you wish to join one of the spins

• Bring your own racing bike and helmet

• If you require bike hire, contact the club by email in advance; pending availability, bike and helmet hire may be able to be arranged from J. Moynan and Co. Ltd., Nenagh

North Tipperary Wheelers holds club races for members during the summer on Thursday evenings, with details of routes, type of event, etc. published on the club website weekly.

The club also hosts the country's toughest one-day spring classic race in April, the Gas Networks Ireland Visit Nenagh Classic, as well as one of the major annual cycling tours on the Irish leisure cycling calendar, the Tour of Lough Derg, which takes place in May each year.
