Ballyshunnock Reservoir is a mixed course and trout fishery with angling access for individuals with disabilities. Trout stocks in the section west of the road are smaller in numbers but larger in size than those in the main body of the water. No boats are allowed on Ballyshunnock Reservoir and ground baiting and use of maggots is prohibited. Open season is from 15th March until 30th September.

Ballyshunock Reservoir is five hundred metres off the Waterford to Cork (N25) road near Kilmacthomas. It holds a big stock of wild brown trout averaging 0.5 lb, with some larger trout up to 4 lb. It is also stocked with rainbow trout.
