The first Fleadh Cheoil took place back in 1951 in Mullingar, and since then the National Festival celebrating Irish traditional music has travelled the country, with counties vying for the honour of hosting. Mullingar hosted the highly successful and much accoladed Fleadh 2022, the Homecoming, welcoming in the region of 500,000 visitors to the founding town of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann embracing all aspects of the Irish cultural traditions.

2023 looks set to break all records, it promises to be an unforgettable visitor experience with the biggest ever celebration of Irish culture. From street performers, concerts and over 150 competitions showcasing the very best of traditional music talent it truly is a world class event.
