Wexford based Recreational Flying Club stated aim is to promote recreational flying and provide facilities and flight instruction to fulfill that aim. The combination of coastline, rivers and mountains make Co Wexford the ideal backdrop for sport flying. Flying from a grass runway situated in a quiet rural area, the Recreational Flying Club provides a unique flying experience.
The training aircraft is a two seat motorglider which can be operated just like a conventional powered aircraft but with the major advantage of being able to soar like a bird once the engine is turned off. On a good summer's day it is possible to stay airborne and indeed to climb, just by using the rising air currents generated by the heat of the sun.
The Club's flying instructor has more than thirty years experience teaching people to fly and specilises in taking absolute beginners through the learning process to become sport pilots.
