Celebrated by Classic FM as one of the “30 of the most brilliant young classical musicians playing today”, Turkish cellist Jamal Aliyev is captivating audiences all over the world.
Jamal Aliyev made his solo debut at the BBC Proms in 2017, performing for the celebrated film music composer John Williams’ 85th Birthday with the BBC Concert Orchestra. He has remained in high demand in concert halls around the world ever since.
Jamal will be joined for this performance by acclaimed Wicklow pianist, and the festival’s Artistic Director, Fiachra Garvey. Jamal and Fiachra have selected a programme that will treat us to the understated elegance of Eccles’ much-loved Sonata in G minor, before gradually shifting gears into the passionate exuberance of high Romanticism, with three masterpieces by Schubert, Schumann and Brahms that span the 19th century.
