Shielbaggan Outdoor Education Centre is based at the top of the spectacular Hook Peninsula, home to the world’s oldest operational lighthouse, as well as stunning scenery and stunning sandy beaches.

They are Ireland’s largest coasteering centre and take pride the fact that they have been leading the way in developing instructor qualifications for this rapidly developing sport. There is no better way to experience Hook Head than to jump in and ride the swell or maybe go sea kayaking and off one of Ireland’s best shores for whale watching.

Shielbaggann Outdoor Education Centre aim to provide the best possible outdoor experience for all types of clients, whether it is a school group, corporate group, club, family or individual. All programmes are tailor made to provide you with the experience you are looking for.

Land activities include high ropes course, climbing tower, caving system, archery, rock climbing, abseiling, team building, orienteering and hill walking. Water activities include coasteering, surfing, canoeing and kayaking (sea and white water). They also provide skills courses in many of the activities and the best adventure summer camps around. Suitable for children 8 years of age and over, all our activities and skills courses are available to individuals, so feel free to come and try something new from coasteering to rock climbing.
