Abbey Farm Holiday Homes offers luxury self-catering accommodation in the beautiful countryside of Skibbereen, County Cork. The homes were originally the 18th-century homestead of a strong tenant farmer. The original buildings have been renovated to provide a complex of four exclusive holiday cottages offering comfortable, relaxing, 4 star accommodation. Two of the cottages have been designed to cater for the comforts and needs of people with disability. Situated around a central courtyard, the cottages are adjacent to a working dairy farmyard.
Each of the cottages features the comforts of home, including an open fire in the living room of 3 houses, TV and DVD player. Guests will also find a well-equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. WiFi access is available, as is a cot and high chair.
Taking their name from the nearby ruins of the 13th-century abbey of Mainistir na Strutha, Abbey Farm Holiday Homes are situated less than 2km from Skibbereen and are an ideal base for exploring south-west Cork. Ballydehob is only 15km to the west. From there the Mizen Drive leads out along the scenic peninsula, through the coastal villages of Schull, Goleen and Crookhaven, to the golden sands of Barley Cove and the dramatic Mizen Head. Additionally, the seaside village of Baltimore boasts a wide range of facilities, including sailing courses, boat hire, scuba diving, sea angling and sea kayaking. Ferries run to many of ‘Carbery's Hundred Isles’ in Roaringwater Bay, including the Gaeltacht island of Oilean Cleire, or Cape Clear.
