The Hotel gains its inspiration from the nearby Grianan of Aileach Fort that proudly rests on An Grianan Hill, lending shadow on the Hotel itself. Widely regarded as one of those gems of Irish hospitality that guests just love coming back to.
After a day of business meetings or sightseeing, the revitalizing ambiance of the transformed Old Church Restaurant awaits. Inside the historic building, which retains many of its original features, guests can enjoy bistro-style or fine dining. The restaurant serves breakfast daily and evening meals from Friday through Sunday. Also, for a snack, quiet drink or lively evening with live music or sports, guests can drop into the Fort Bar and Lounge.
The Hotel boasts an elegant feel with rooms designed for your comfort and relaxation. All rooms are equipped with hairdryer, ironing facilities, plasma TV, personal safe and tea and coffee-making facilities. Anyone arranging a corporate or private function can turn to An Grianan for an excellent venue as well. The hotel has two dedicated suites, which include audio-visual equipment. The larger function room, the Tuatha De Danann suite, is capable of hosting wedding receptions of up to 350 guests. This Hotel is also facilitated accordingly for those with disabilities.
We are located on the main Wild Atlantic Way Route (N13 Road) and boast numerous attractions and activities to explore. You can enjoy the well-known ruins of Burt Castle and Grianan Ailigh. Visitors can also pass the time golfing, kayaking, horse riding, hill walking and much much more. We have also launched our Old Church Visitor Centre in March 2014 showcasing the Myths & Legends of the Tuatha De Danann Race of Gods and Warriors that have shaped our local Culture & Heritage. All guests staying with us can enjoy the Centre for free. P.S – watch out for our Celtic Feast nights in the Hotel that are held throughout the year, a truly magical experience awaits!
Come along and see for yourself, we would love to have you!
