Blackwater Eco Pods have four high spec Eco Pods located in the centre of the town. Each pod can accommodate four adults or a family of five and contain a kitchenette, shower and toilet. The pods also have a picnic area and barbeque facilities.
Located on the banks of the River Blackwater, which is designated a special area of conservation and is home to many species of birds including Kingfishers, Peregrine Falcons, Egrits and Herons, as well as other species including otters. Through conservation, community and education Blackwater Eco Pods aim is to promote environmental awareness and sustainability in this stunning hideaway of West Waterford.
Just a few minutes from the pods is Villierstown Quay and Boat House where guests can explore the natural beauty of the River Blackwater. Guided boat tours are available for up to 11 people, a self drive option in which guests can skipper one of the boats and kayaking or canoeing. Enjoy the unspoilt natural beauty and unique historic heritage of the River Blackwater Valley, ideally located within the Munster Vales and Ireland’s Ancient East.
