Carraig Rua is a family run establishment and is situated only three minutes walk from the bus and railway station. Kilkenny Castle and City centre are a short walk. Carraig Rua is close to city hotels and near Lyrath Hotel. Free parking available.

Carraig Rua is a family run establishment and is situated only three minutes walk from Kilkenny bus and railway station.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and some are complete with ensuite facilities. Guests can enjoy a delicious home cooked full Irish breakfast on each morning. There is a beautiful garden for guest use surrounding the home as well as a tastefully decorated Victorian designed sitting room and ample private parking.

Directions:

Travelling from Dublin on the M9 Motorway.

At the roundabout, take the first exit heading for the Old Dublin Road Roundabout.

At that Old Dublin Road Roundabout, take the third exit heading for Kilkenny City Centre. Carraig Rua is at the bottom of the hill on the right-hand side.

Travelling from Cork or Clonmel.

At the roundabout, take the second exit heading onto the national Route N10. Travel through four roundabouts, and when you reach the (fifth roundabout) Old Dublin Road roundabout, take the exit heading for Kilkenny City Centre. Carraig Rua is on the right-hand side at the bottom of the hill.

Travelling from Cashel or Urlingford or Freshford or Threecastle along regional route R693.

At the roundabout, continue straight onto the Freshford Road (regional route R693).Turn left onto Green Street (regional route R693) and continue to follow regional route R693. At the roundabout take the third exit onto the Castlecomer Road, then straight on through the traffic lights to the next roundabout.Take the second exit then at the traffic lights exit left on to the Dublin Roads. Continue straight through the next set of traffic lights approximately 600 metres and on the left hand side will be Carraig Rua.
