Clonacody House is a family owned period home. It was originally built in 1740 for the Kellett Family, one of whom named Sir Admiral Henry Kellett was born in 1805. The wood from his ship “The Resolute” was used to make the desk that sits in the Oval office and another desk was made for Queen Victoria and sits in Buckingham Palace.
The house is situated in parkland with lawns and mature trees wrapping around it and is blessed to have panoramic views of the Commeragh, Galtee and Knockmealdown Mountains to the south and the much fabled Slievenamon (mountain of the women) to the east. Clonacody House's location leave it easily accessible.
The drawing and dining room and four beautifully appointed bedrooms are all south facing so guests can enjoy views of the garden. Guests can avail of WiFi throughout the house and grounds and in the hall, there is a large TV with all the racing, sporting and movies.
Clonacody House can be hired exclusively for weddings, funerals, special occasions, holistic and corporate events. All catering is provided.
