Coolbawn Quay is a boutique resort on the shores of Lough Derg, North Tipperary. The heart of the resort is the old world Village offering serviced rooms, modern food, yoga and wellness therapies and private lake access for water based activities.

In a picturesque waterside setting the boutique resort of Coolbawn Quay nestles into the landscape on the eastern shores of Lough Derg, North Tipperary. The heart of the resort is the lakeshore Village, built in the style of an old world Irish village with a modern twist and complete with a pub and restaurant for dining and mingling, lakeshore treatment suites and cabins for therapies and village houses and cottages for accommodation, all scattered along meandering paths leading to the old stone Harbour.

Steeped in history, the old stone Harbour dates to early eighteen hundred and has been carefully restored. It is a protected area for the exclusive use of guests. Centrally located on the River Shannon, Ireland’s longest river, Coolbawn Quay offers guests private access to the lake and the adjacent marina to enjoy an array of water activities and a base from which to explore all parts of Ireland.

Coolbawn Quay has embraced nature and offers guests some unusual experiences such as: yoga by the shore in the glass studio, kayaking from the quay, wild swimming, forest bathing, nature walks and hikes and a host of hammocks to lie in and idle away the day. A natural spring deep beneath the Village is the water source for the entire resort and is used in all treatments. After years of natural filtration, the pure water arrives to guestrooms with the message ‘drink me’.

The picturesque setting and bespoke Lakeshore Pavilion make Coolbawn Quay a desired location for weddings and events. A full in house planning service is provided for both private and corporate gatherings.

A range of accommodation options are available on an individual room basis, or the Village may be booked in its entirety and become a Private Village for the stay duration. Carefully tailored packages are available to include wellness and retreat options. All accommodation is within a couple of minutes walking distance to the shoreline.

Superior Rooms

Individual rooms tucked away throughout the village. Each room opens onto a small terrace with table and chairs. As part of the Coolbawn Quay experience is relaxation, TVs are not provided in the rooms. Each room has a Roberts Radio for easy listening and can be paired with mobile devices.

Village Rooms

A choice of double or twin beds. All rooms are ensuite, within a variety of properties scattered throughout the village. Each bedroom has a private entrance to ensure complete privacy but shares a front door and hallway with other guests. Ideally suited for group getaways.

House Suites

House Suites are a variety of properties scattered throughout the village and vary in size from cottages to larger village houses with two, three and four bedrooms, spacious kitchen and living room with wood burning stove. All bedrooms have a full bathroom, with a bath. Perfect for families and groups. Escape to this lakeshore hideaway for a relaxing break, an activity and wellness retreat or a longer stay, a warm welcome awaits.
