Crossriver is situated in the village of Oughterard. This bed and breakfast is in the perfect location to tour Connemara, Aran Islands, Galway City, fishing and cruising on Lough Corrib, or go walking, mountain climbing and pony treking.

Oughterard, on the shores of Lough Corrib, is set at the gateway of the beautiful Connemara mountain area. Its variety of attractions makes it the ideal location to experience a small Irish village and all it has to offer. Best fished from a boat which can be organised by the bed and breakfast, Lough Corrib offers some of the most spectacular views and is a world renowned fishing spot. The Connemara mountains, just west of town, provide some of the most remarkable scenery in the world.

There are many lovely drives to take around the area as well as trails for those who enjoy walking, hiking, pony trekking or cycling. The rocky landscape, turf fields, scattered lakes and sheep dotting the mountainsides are sights you will never forget. Other amenities of attraction to tourists are the historic 19th Century Glengonla Mines, Oughterard Candlework shop, the both challenging and charming Oughterard Golf Club and Brigit's Garden offer a magical experience for all. The 16th Century Irish tower house Aughanure Castle and Corrib cruises is a family run passenger boat service on Lough Corrib which offers a wide range of tours between Oughterard and Cong.
