Currarevagh House is a charming country mansion, built in 1842, romantically situated beside Lough Corrib, County Galway, in 180 acres of private woodlands. The relaxing atmosphere and classically simple menus receive much international praise.

Currarevagh House is a gracious early Victorian Country House, set in 180 acres of private parkland and woodland bordering on Lough Corrib, County Galway. Currarevagh House offers an oasis of privacy for guests in an idyllic, undisturbed natural environment, providing exceptional personal service with a high standard of accommodation and old fashioned, traditional character. A genuine warm welcome from the owners.

Currarevagh, pronounced 'Curra–reeva', still retains the atmosphere of a bygone age where the emphasis is on hospitality and service. The tranquil informality lends itself to those seeking a relaxing few days, enjoying the house and grounds or exploring the beauty of Lough Corrib, Connemara, Galway and beyond.

The 12 bedrooms are individually styled and offer undisturbed views of either Lough Corrib or the mountains to the north. Accommodation is comfortable, with ensuite bathrooms, evening turn down service and hot water bottles when the wind howls outside. Bedrooms have accommodation that is double or twin bedded, and they also have two single bedded rooms for the lone traveller not wanting to pay single supplements. The largest room can comfortably sleep a family of two adults and two children. Guests have exclusive use of three comfortable sitting rooms to relax beside open turf fires, enjoy the breathtaking view, browse the many bookshelves or quietly snooze to the sound of nothing.

In keeping with the character of the house, there are no televisions in the bedrooms. There is however a television in the study downstairs which has over 400 channels, including all major sporting channels. WiFi, with no charge, is available in the public areas of the house. Bedrooms are provided with their own spring water and fresh flowers. Many guests remark on the absolute peace and quiet.

A lavish Edwardian breakfast is laid out on the dining room sideboard each morning and in the evening a four-course dinner is served, based on local fresh ingredients. For those exploring during the day guests can try one of Currarevagh’s famous picnics or avail of a light snack lunch. Afternoon Tea, served in the drawing room, is a well known ritual enjoyed by many.

The relaxing atmosphere and classically simple menus receive much international praise. Currarevagh House also has its own fishing, boats and tennis court. Golf and horse-riding is available locally. Currarevagh House is recommended by Good Hotel Guide, Michelin Guide and Ireland's Blue Book.
