The award-winning Pullman Restaurant aboard the Orient Express at the Glenlo Abbey Hotel offers a unique dining experience. Two of the original carriages from the Orient Express, have been beautifully restored and are now set on the grounds of the hotel. These historic Pullman train carriages are rich in history. The first-class carriage - Leona - was used as one of several carriages in the making of Sidney Lumet’s never-to-be-forgotten classic, Murder on the Orient Express.
The 2 AA Rosette Pullman Restaurant seats 66 and comprises two carriages. It also has two enclosed compartments which each seat six, perfect for private dining. The dining carriage - named Leona - was formerly a First Class Parlour Car, and the richness of the interior wood, marquetry and brasswork within reflect the previous existence of this piece of history.
The Oak Cellar Bar situated in the main hotel is ideal for casual dining and has a varied menu, lively atmosphere, and cosy surroundings. Whiskey Tastings are available, where guests may relax by the open log fires while the resident Whiskey Connoisseur will guide them on a journey of the senses where guests may sample whiskeys from Ireland’s top distilleries. The River Room Restaurant boasts elegant surroundings and old world charm. Breakfast is served here daily with views overlooking Lough Corrib and the estate. With bespoke menu options, sumptuous food, and special attention and service from the staff, it offers an intimate private dining venue for up to 30 guests, or drinks and canapés for up to 60 guests.
