Stop off at Hanly Tweeds, Ballyartelia or have a pint or some delicious food at the Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon or the Whiskey Still, Dromineer.
Enjoy watching the herd of cows heading for their milking in the mornings or again in the evening. One can simply soak up the genuine atmosphere created by this welcoming family.
Gort na gCapall cottage is a modern luxury home within a traditional Irish cottage, where the pace of life ambles. Three out of four bedrooms have European king sized beds, which are very tastefully decorated, with two ensuites making your stay very comfortable. The master bedroom upstairs has a spacious walk in wardrobe and ensuite with wonderful black out blinds for the ideal lie in. The other bedroom has twin beds dressed with crisp white linen. The open plan living area has a beautiful open fireplace and wood is supplied for your convenience. The seating in this area is leather couches and a window seat for dining in this area.
The cottage has been prepared to make your vacation truly memorable, high end furnishings with king six and twin beds, fully equipped cream kitchen with granite throughout, breakfast bar, microwave, hob and oven, laundry room with washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board, CD player, Radio, TVs and DVDs.
The cottage is very spacious, complete with patio for al fresco dining, furniture and BBQ provided.
The main bathroom has a marble tiled floor and a free standing bath with separate shower. The open plan kitchen/dining/sun room area contains facilities, equipment and fittings of excellent quality and standard.
For those rainy days, there is a full DVD library to choice from and a full bookcase or a game of pool on the 6 foot pool table to entertain young ones. Cookery demonstrations can also be arranged locally, where your get to eat the food with a glass of wine.
Due to location the following can be organised, horse trekking, cycle routes, walk routes, local sport, boat trips, fishing and many more activities from which to choose. Take a trip on the last on a 50 seater tour boat, or rent a sail boat or fishing boat and go exploring.
The location of the cottage facilitates a two miles walk/drive to the lakeside village of Dromineer on Lough Derg, five miles from the nearest town of Nenagh. The cottage is located within a 50 yard stroll to the walking trail of Sli Eala. Guests can also take day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, The Burren or the Dingle Peninsula or a shorter day exploring the smaller quaint towns of Terryglass and Killaloe, both a short 15-20 minute drive and the castles in Birr and Limerick about a 40 minute drive.
