For a unique holiday in County Sligo, travellers can stay at Inishmulclohy Lodge, which is found on the beautiful and unspoilt Coney Island. The area offers excellent walking, sea fishing and surfing, and is a wonderful choice for a family break.

Inishmulclohy Lodge is a renovated barn situated on the unspoilt Island of Coney in Sligo Bay. It is a fabulous place for a traditional family holiday or if you just want to get away from it all this is the place for peace and tranquillity. Painting weekend holiday packages are available with artist Neal Greig.

The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and equipped to a high standard. Downstairs there is a large bedroom with two double beds, utility room, bathroom, sunroom and kitchen dining. Upstairs there is another bedroom which has a double bed and a single toilet and living room with bed settee. All duvets, linen and towels are provided, cot available and high chair. TV (DVDs only), CD Radio, family board games and book collection. The kitchen is well equipped with Stanley Range cooker which heats the water, heating and cooking.

There is a large secure garden with barbecue and private parking. The house sleeps six.

The lodge has panoramic views over the Sligo Bay and two beaches within minutes of the house, Katie's Beach and Carty's Strand which is a quiet sandy beach and a great spot for surfing and swimming. At the pier there is another smaller beach for making sand castles, crab and mackerel fishing. It has beautiful views over to Oyster Island.

Wards Pub is the main hub on the Island which is a brilliant spot to hear traditional music and join in the singing which is compulsory. Lots of historical items to view and also meet the locals.

Coney is a tidal island which is accessible at low tide by car or by foot. Head out the road to Strandhill and look out for the Coney Island sign. There is 14 pillars across Cummeen Strand which were constructed in the mid 1800s lining up with Black Rock Lighthouse to aid night time travel across the bay.

There are a lot of stories about fairies, mermaids and spirits on Coney Island and visitors can try the elusive St Patrick’s Wishing Chair, St Patrick’s Well and some fairy forts.

Activities in the area include surfing, deep sea fishing, boat trips to Inishmurray Island, painting course are also available, seaweed baths, golfing, hill-walking bird watching.
