There are other fascinating sites to visit, including the ruined Rosserk Abbey, and Moyne and Rathfran Abbey, a 13th century Dominican priory that is within walking distance.

Visitors interested in fishing will find many locations to enjoy river, shore and off-shore experiences. Killala Bay offers excellent fishing for more than 30 different species. The shoreline is also dotted with safe beaches, notably the Blue Flag awarded beach at Ross, which is perfect for swimming and water sports.
