Kilcommon Lodge is a small, family run holiday hostel situated by the Atlantic Ocean near Kilcommon, County Mayo. Perfect for a tranquil escape, the lodge is found in a peaceful valley by the sea, surrounded by mature gardens. It is generously laid out, so guests will find plenty of space inside and out to relax, play, read, barbecue, chat and enjoy the stunning views.
The building dates back 200 years and can accommodate and cater for up to 25 people at any time during the year. Guests can choose from private, family and dormitory rooms, and can also enjoy home-cooked food. There is a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, large common room, pool room, open peat fire, internet access, laundry facilities, drying shed, car park. Surfboard and wet suit rental can be arranged.
Kilcommon Lodge is the ideal accommodation for an activity-based vacation. Travellers can enjoy hill walking, bird watching, rock fishing, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, golfing and exploring the rich neolithic history.
Day trips: to Castlebar, Tourlough Museum of Country Life, Westport, Foxford Woollen Mills, The Ceide Fields or, if the conditions are good, the Inishlee Islands. But guests can also just stay by the fire, read and relax.
