Laharandota - the artists' cottage & studio
More from visitors like you
Laharandota is nestled in the stunning unspoilt landscape of the south western Irish coastline, Kilcrohane, Bantry, County Cork. Laharandota is a restored traditional cottage made from stone, slate and timber in keeping with its natural setting.

Laharandota is located in the southern side of the Sheep’s Head Peninsula, about four miles from the village of Kilcrohane, with its quay, coves for bathing, two pubs, restaurant, shop and local church.

At Laharandota many of the original features have been retained to create a unique and peaceful atmosphere which compliments the surrounding land and sea. Laharandota is a beautiful detached cottage and studio available to rent separately or together, are nestled on the hillside, surrounded by a large private garden with wonderful sea views.

Inside Laharandota Cottage there are three bedrooms with king, twin and single beds, family bathroom and ensuite shower room to the master bedroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a large open plan kitchen living room, study with single sofa bed and sun room with sea views.

The Studio is a separate self contained unit next to the cottage and about half the size. Inside there is a small open plan kitchen lounge area with sun room attached and sea views. The sun room has its own ensuite shower room and iron day bed with trundle to form a king or a twin bedroom. It also has double doors that open out to the pool side patio. Upstairs is a king bedroom with sea views and ensuite shower room.

Laharandota Cottage sleeps six people and the Studio sleeps four. They can be rented separately or together and they are both self contained. They have their own parking spaces, entrances, patios and garden areas. They share use of the outdoor pool and some facilities housed in the separate garage where there is a washer, dryer, freezer, two adult bikes and BBQ.

Sheep's Head Peninsula offers great land and seascapes. Drive or hike out to the Lighthouse or stroll down the lane from the Cottage directly on to The Sheep's Head Way. The Peninsula's 55 mile trail offers an exciting challenge for all keen walkers. If, however, you do not fancy yourself as a wild rover, there's always riding, cycling, sailing, kayaking, diving, golf, cookery classes or just a relaxing afternoon taking in the fabulous Cork countryside and sea views! The property is ideally located for touring the West Cork area, for walking, cycling or sailing with it's many walking routes, scenic drives, coves and bays. West Cork attractions include Garnish Island and Glengariff, the Sheep's Head and Mizen Head, as well as the town of Bantry, with its many shops, great restaurants, bars and cinema. The area is also well known for its raw natural beauty, attracting walkers, artists and anyone with a love for the outdoors to the area.
