When exploring the unspoilt beauty of southwest Donegal, travellers can stay at Malinbeg Hostel, which is located near Glencolumbkille and looks out at the Atlantic Ocean and Rathlin O’Byrne Island.

Malinbeg Hostel is the perfect budget accommodation for travellers wishing to experience the tranquillity of southwest Donegal and all it has to offer in outdoor activities.

Located along the Atlantic Ocean near Glencolmkille, the property is modern, clean and comfortable. It has private, dormitory, ensuite and family rooms, all furnished to a high standard. There are also self-catering facilities, two kitchens, a common room, dining room and private parking.

Malinbeg Hostel is the perfect place for visitors who want to explore the natural beauty of the Slieve League Peninsula. The area boasts clear, pollution free waters, which make it the ideal place for a diving adventure. With mountains and hills free of trees, power lines and other obstacles, the area also proves popular for hang gliding. Hikers and cliff walkers won’t want to miss the Slieve League mountain, which is nearly 600 metres tall and home to Ireland’s highest sea cliffs. Fishing with a pole, reel rod or hand line is free all year round, and common fish are mackerel, pollack and whiting.

Glencolumkille is also a great destination for history buffs, as there are traces of human life existing there about 5,000 years ago. The area feature different kinds of ancient tombs, churches and other structures.
