The Old Mill Holiday Hostel serves as a wonderful base for exploring Westport Town and the surrounding area. The clean and comfortable property has family and dorm rooms with a cosy atmosphere created by the old stone walls and wooden beams. The hostel features a spacious common room for relaxing and making friends, a well-equipped kitchen and free hot showers.
The historic building was built about 1780 and was part of a network of warehouse buildings used as a brewery. It later served as a storehouse, animal shelter, slaughterhouse and chicken hatchery. In 1991 it was renovated and converted into a hostel. Further renovations were carried out in 2012 making improvements to the bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen facilities.
Westport is located in north west Ireland and is popular for walking, horse riding, surfing, sailing, sea angling, fishing and golfing. It is home to the Clew Bay Heritage Centre, a must-see for those interested in local history and genealogy. Croagh Patrick, one of Ireland’s top attractions, is also nearby.
