Situated in Letterfrack, County Galway, the Old Monastery Hostel is a tranquil accommodation that opened in 1990. The building was originally constructed by the Quakers in the 1840s.
It features a self-catering kitchen, comfortable living room with open fireplace, open air pub and alfresco dining areas. The spacious bedrooms are decorated in different themes, while artwork adorns the hallways. Guests can enjoy free breakfast each morning and can also treat themselves to a three-course dinner for a small fee. There is also a camping ground in the front garden overlooking the lush Ellis Wood on one side and the bays and inlets on the other side.
The hostel is located in the heart of North Connemara just steps from the Connemara National Park and is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. Visitors will find many opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling, boating, fishing and simply relaxing.
