Scholars Townhouse Hotel possesses an historic charm, with stained glass windows and high covered ceilings. The former Christian Brother residence, now known as Scholars Townhouse Hotel, was home to renowned submarine inventor John Philip Holland, and to Irish proclamation signee Eamonn Ceannt. Commemorative memorials now stand in front of the hotel.

Scholars’ fine dining restaurant is decorated with ceiling frescoes, and murals depicting the Battle of the Boyne set the tone of this large room, which is set up with linen table cloths and gleaming glasses. The restaurant has been awarded 2AA Rosettes for 2016/17, and recent recognition from the Restaurant Association of Irelands in Best Hotel Restaurant in Co. Louth for three consecutive years.
