Scholars Townhouse Hotel is a boutique hotel in the heart of Drogheda. Scholars Townhouse comprises of 16 en suite bedrooms, Gastro Lounge, 2AA Rosette restaurant and conference facility for up to 50 delegates.

Scholars Townhouse Hotel possesses an historic charm, with stained glass windows and high covered ceilings. The former Christian Brother residence, now known as Scholars Townhouse Hotel, was home to renowned submarine inventor John Philip Holland, and to Irish proclamation signee Eamonn Ceannt. Commemorative memorials now stand in front of the hotel.

Scholars Townhouse Hotel stands in the centre of the historic town of Drogheda, County Louth, which is 20 minutes from Dublin airport via the nearby M1 motorway. This award-winning hotel has been described as ‘an oasis of relaxation in the heart of the vibrant town of Drogheda'. The McGowan family (Martin, Patricia, Mark and Glenn) who own and manage the hotel have fully modernised the building with a rich, comfortable interior. Sixteen ensuite rooms provide accommodation for a range of requirements. Each room is tastefully decorated with modern conveniences.

Scholars Townhouse Hotel hosts a Gastro Lounge and 2AA Rosette Restaurant. The Gastro Lounge provides a range of Irish Whiskey and Craft beers, as well as a large selection of wines by the glass.

Scholars Townhouse Hotel hosts one of Drogheda's award-winning restaurants in terms of food, décor and service. The Dining experience is casual with a focus on local produce. Scholars’ fine dining restaurant is decorated with ceiling frescoes, and murals depicting the Battle of the Boyne set the tone of this large room, which is set up with linen table cloths and gleaming glasses. The restaurant has been awarded 2AA Rosettes for 2016/17, and recent recognition from the Restaurant Association of Irelands in Best Hotel Restaurant in Co. Louth for three consecutive years.

Local tourist attractions vary from an array of links golf courses, to famous historic sites such as Newgrange, the Hill of Tara, Slane Castle, and the site of the famous Battle of the Boyne.
