Smugglers Inn is a family run bar and restaurant situated on mile from the village of Waterville, on the famous Ring of Kerry, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Waterville Golf Links.

Originally a 180 year old farmhouse, the Smugglers Inn was restored by the Hunt Family in 1980. Located on the popular Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way, it has been renowned worldwide for its warm welcome, superb restaurant and comfortable ensuite bedrooms which come complete with TV, hairdryer, tea- and coffee-making facilities, complimentary WiFi access and most rooms boast breathtaking sea or mountain views.

Smugglers Inn gourmet restaurant, With seating for up to 100 people is world famous for its fresh fish and local meat dishes. Menus and food are created and prepared by award winning Chef/Proprietor Henry Hunt using fresh seasonal local produce with a variety of seafood, meats, poultry and game. Some specialities include Ballinskelligs Bay Black Sole, Inny Beach Seafood Platter, Kataifi Prawns and Rack of Kerry Lamb. It has been said "if our fish was any fresher our chefs would have to cook it underwater". Bar Food Menu also available in a fully licensed bar. Member of Good Food Ireland and Restaurant Association of Ireland. Recommended by Georgina Campbell and Taste of Ireland. Voted Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year 2018 for Munster at the Yes Chef Awards.

Smugglers Inn overlooks the famous 18-hole championship Waterville Golf Links, and the area is a haven for golfers, fishermen, horse riders, walkers and anyone who enjoys outdoor pursuits and fine scenery.

Lough Currane, located one mile away, is famous for its scenic beauty and for its stocks of salmon, sea trout and brown trout. The salmon fishing season runs from January to September and sea trout runs from March to October. There is also excellent shore fishing all along the coast for bass, mackerel, plaice, turbot and many more.

Take a boat trip some 12km southwest of Valentia island and visit Skellig Michael, a world heritage site, and climb the 600 steps to see the stone beehive huts where the monks lived until the 13th century and where you will also see many impressive seabirds such as puffins, gannets and guillemots. Also now popular with Star Wars fans where The Force Awakens was partly filimed on Skellig Michael. Boats depart from Portmagee from May to September (weather permitting) and booking essential in high season.
