The Haggard self-catering facility is a short 15 minute walk outside the town of Castleblayney in County Monaghan. This cosy holiday rental incorporating a refurbished old stone barn loft and a newly constructed extension is ideally located away from busy roads and noisy traffic and yet close to all the amenities that will assist the enjoyment of your stay in County Monaghan.

Sleeping up to six people the haggard has been beautifully restored to the highest specifications to provide kitchen, sitting room and dining room space and this now connects to a newly constructed modern three bedroom extension. The entrance to the building has accessibility for wheelchair users. The new extension is built on a piece of ground which in bygone days was used to stack grain and hay commonly known as the Haggard.

The facility is located outside the town of Castleblayney which was the hometown to the legendary country and western singer Big Tom Mc Bride and the town now proudly displays a life size bronze statue in his memory. within the town boundary the visitor can find Lough Muckno Park with stunning lakeside and forest walking trails. Other popular attractions include an indoor ten pin bowling facility, a 300 seated arts theatre, hotel and nearby golf and country club. Castleblayney is also a well-established angling center of excellence with unrivalled access for anglers.
