Originally a hunting lodge designed by the famous architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, and a listed building, Trá na Rosann hostel is the most northerly hostel in Ireland. With stunning views and only minutes from the beach, its location is truly magical.

Trá na Rosann Youth Hostel will not open to guests for this 2020 season.

Trá na Rosann is a listed hunting lodge which operates as a 26 bed hostel in one of the most northerly parts of Donegal. It is the only one of Sir Edwin Lutyens architectural designs that you can still sleep in today.

Tra Na Rosann is part of the Irish Youth Hostel Association which emphasises safety and security in budget accommodation for youth travellers and groups. The Rosguill area is what attracts people here. It is a well kept secret for only those adventurous souls willing to make the journey.

The mix of remote coastal and hill scenery is stunning. The Gaeltacht culture is unique. The serenity of the area is perfect for walking, swimming and cycling.

Trá na Rosann Hostel is managed by volunteers who are passionate about the old school hostelling experience. They will ensure your visit to the area is one to remember and most visitors return again every year.

Tra na Rosann itself is a unique design which nestles into the scenery and is minutes from the beach with Tory Island in the distance. It has standard dorm beds, family rooms and self catering facilities. It also provides free parking. The hostel is open for all of June, July and August and after that just for groups of 10 or more.
