Whitestrand is beautiful three star spacious B&B. The en-suite rooms include a TV, hairdryer, information folder and Wi-Fi. On arrival guest are offered tea, coffee, home baking and information on the surrounding area. There is a picnic bench outdoors where guests can sit back and relax, enjoy the peace and quietness. Whitestrand B&B is located at the northernmost part of the Wild Atlantic Way - a coastal route stretching all the way south to Cork via Ireland's western seaboard. Malin Head is a focal point on the Wild Atlantic Way; part of the eighth episode of Starwars was filmed in Malin Head in May 2016. A few minutes’ drive takes visitors to the most northerly point of Ireland called Banba’s Crown, named after an early Pre-Christian Pagan Queen. From this elevated point a magnificent view of the surrounding area can be seen. The Admiralty Tower at Banba’s Crown was built in 1805 as a Lloyds signal station; it was used as a lookout point in the two World Wars. A Medieval derelict church called the Weehouse of Malin dating back to the 16th Century is well worth a visit. There are many beautiful beaches. The nearby Five Finger Strand has the largest sand dunes in Europe and at the low tide, the wreck of the Twilight ship is clearly visible. A variety of activities are catered for within the local area. Walking, diving, swimming, rock climbing, kayaking, bird watching, surfing, horse riding and golf. A Famine Village nearby provides visitors with an insight into the harsh life our ancestors endured in the 19th Century
