Sha-Roe Bistro
Clonegal, Co. Carlow
Sha-Roe Bistro in the scenic village of Clonegal in County Carlow is a popular dining experience for food enthusiasts.

Henry and Stephanie Stone’s beautifully restored restaurant in Clonegal, County Carlow features the highest quality local food with a creative twist. The bistro features in Georgina Campbell's Ireland Guide.

The Sha-Roe Bistro menu is simple in its descriptive narrative of carefully chosen dishes. The menu is based on seasonal, local food, so guests can be sure that they are eating the freshest of ingredients. All dishes have a classical feel, but always with a contemporary twist, such as the goats cheese and wild garlic tart served with carrot and peanut salad, or the fried breaded escalopes of Irish veal. There is a great selection of desserts and the famous chocolate marquise served with vanilla ice cream and orange reduction is always a winner. The wine list is personally selected by the owners and has been well thought out to make sure there is something for every dish and diner.

The Sha-Roe Bistro is set in an 18th Century building with original features that include a huge open stone fireplace, with a wood burning stove and a pretty courtyard.
