Cavan Heritage and Genealogy Centre, located in Cavan Town, offers a full genealogical research service for County Cavan.

Discover your Cavan ancestry at Cavan Genealogy Centre. The centre's database holds more than half a million records of baptisms, marriages, burials, census records, pre and post Famine land records, and numerous other sources.

The earliest church records date from 1702, however, starting dates of church records vary for each parish denomination. Persons in the McEntee family picture featured on this listing are listed in the church parish where records commence in 1803.

The centre was established in 1987 to build a database of all sources of a genealogical nature that are known to exist for County Cavan and to provide a professional, reliable, and confidential service for those wishing to learn more about their family background in County Cavan.

It is located on the first floor of the Johnston Central Library on Farnham Street.
