Newly renovated, this suburban pub has maintained its old world atmosphere. Featuring crafted wood work throughout, stone floors and stained glass, as soon as you enter you get that warm feel of an authentic Irish pub. The South County is a member of the Ireland whiskey trail and also offers a tempting Irish coffee. A unique feature of this family run pub is its quant Snug which recently featured on the ‘Irish Times’ Top Ten Snugs in Ireland, - a great place to get lost and relax. This pub has a fabulous outdoor space ‘The Guinness Beer garden. This area is heated, has real open fires every evening, back ground music and even a couple of big screens to watch your favourite sport.
Throughout the year the South County has its lively Irish music sessions, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 9.30pm. Irish Ballad Sessions on Sundays at 6pm (No Entry Fee)
Food is served Monday to Friday from 10am to 7.30pm. and a bar menu is offered on Saturdays at lunch time. As well as lunch and dinner menus, great value daily specials featuring locally sourced ingredients are also offered to guests at the pub. The pub also has a number of areas suitable for special events. For birthday parties, corporate functions, christenings and even weddings, areas to suit 25 to 100 can be reserved for you and your guests.
