Rosa Productions, in partnership with The Everyman, is proud to present The House Must Win, a gritty new musical drama that sweeps audiences into the emotional undertow of its story and song written by Mick Flannery, as part of its world premiere.
On the western edge of Ireland, in the 1970s, two brothers live with the odds stacked against them. They take separate paths in a bid to lead the ’good’ life, and try to honour the girl who has both their hearts.
The people of this town must figure out how to play the cards they’ve been dealt, in a world of backroom poker-playing, secrets and bribes, broken families and broken hearts.
Starring Tommy Tiernan, Tabitha Smith and more, it is directed by Julie Kelleher, with Liam Robinson (Hadestown) as Music Supervisor and Ciarán Bagnall on Set and Lighting Design. The creative team has worked closely with Mick over the past years, shaping the world he has envisioned through this new script and its twenty-one songs.
