The Oyster Tavern is the oldest licensed premises in Cork, dating back to 1792. It reopened in August 2017 after refurbishment and allows customers the opportunity to step back in time with the old world bar downstairs, while the restaurant and bar upstairs are elegant and contemporary.
They are located next to Cork’s English Market. The market has many vendors where the chefs can source their meat, fish and produce daily. This is evident in the food and cocktail menus on offer.
Due to the proximity of the English Market, they welcome a large number of tourists through their doors. There are traditional Irish music sessions on Sunday evenings.
The Oyster Tavern has a cocktail menu, wine list and a range of spirits and beers to choose from including their signature cocktails.
Morning pastries, lunch and dinner are served daily. They also have a weekend brunch menu or pre-theatre menu for those who want to grab a bite before a show.
Throughout the week customers can enjoy matches on the big screen, traditional Irish music, cover bands or the hugely popular saxophone player who performs most Saturday nights followed by a DJ.
The Oyster Tavern caters for celebrations, staff parties and corporate entertainment. The drop-down screens can be used for business presentations and there is WiFi throughout the venue. The venue can be tailored to each client’s requirements.
