Proprietor and head chef Rana Miah was born in Chandpur, Bangladesh and decided to name the restaurant in honour of his birthplace. He chose to open his restaurant in Donegal Town, located on the Wild Atlantic Way in County Donegal.
Rana was taught to cook at an early age by his mother, Razia. He has special memories of learning recipes and has recreated one of his mother's favourites, the Indian Railway Curry. It is the signature dish of Chandpur Indian Restaurant.
Rana moved to the Middle East then to Wales, then London and, finally, Ireland where he realised his dream and opened Chandpur Indian Restaurant along with his Scottish born wife, Susan.
This family owned restaurant has won multiple awards over the last few years including Best Indian Restaurant. The restaurant has had the honour of being number one on Trip Advisor for both Donegal Town and County Donegal and continuously receives five star Certificates of Excellence from Trip Advisor.
