Dunmore Gardens is a beautiful secretive walled garden, which lies just outside the pretty village of Carrigans, on the western banks of Lough Foyle in County Donegal. The McFarland family have lived at Dunmore for four generations and have opened their doors to many weddings, celebrations and garden parties.
The garden is always open to visitors looking to celebrate a special occasion, or simply to relax in the sanctuary of the walled garden. The Georgian house and beautiful walled garden date back to 1742. The house was built on the remains of an old fort, which is believed to date back to the 14th century. You can still find remains of this forgotten fort while wandering through the woodlands at Dunmore. So come and enjoy the rich collection of plants, intricate paths, secret corners and ponds in this wonderful traditional walled garden.
Have your camera ready as there is a chance of spotting red squirrels, Irish hares and other wildlife that call this garden home.
