Jutting out from the west coast of the Inishowen Peninsula, Dunree Head features expansive coastal views, as well as Fort Dunree and Military Museum and the Dunree Lighthouse.

Dunree Head is accessible by road over a twisting clifftop route along the side of Urris Hills. The curving approach road offers a variety of great views over Lough Swilly. The view from Dunree Head itself stretches over Dunree Bach and Lough Swilly all the way to the Fanad Peninsula.

Dunree Head is rich in wildlife, some of it unique for the area. This is detailed in the wildlife discovery room in the Saldanha Suite at the historical Fort Dunree.

Beyond the historical site of Fort Dunree, there are numerous scenic walks to explore, as well as opportunities for some whale watching. The Coffee Cup Dunree offers visitors a great place to relax in at the end of the day.
