Edel MacBride Knitwear Designer, established in 1987 is inspired by the textural contrasts of Donegal with its rich textile history. As a fashion designer, Edel's collections are contemporary with expert craftsmanship.

Edel MacBride is a member of Design and Crafts Council Ireland and makes creative clothing with exciting yarns and twists of traditional technique using Donegal spun wool. The designer loves the north west of Ireland location for it's down to earthiness and wild beauty and just because it is home.

The business is passionate about hand knits from Ireland and currently supplies Isetanmitsukoshi in Japan with their original hand knits designed by Edel. Workshops and classes are regularly hosted at the outlet and Edel is a guest lecturer in Aran knitting in the USA and Italy.

Edel MacBride has designed for Hilary Clinton and Sarah Jessica Parker, to name but a few. Edel outfitted the cast of Camelot, featured on RTE Nationwide, BBC Clothes Show, RTE’s Craft Master and is a renowned International designer.
