BAR 1661 is an independent Dublin City cocktail venue, home of the Belfast Coffee cocktail, and proud of its Irish roots. It is recognised as a finalist in the World’s Top 50 Cocktail Menu, and recently crowned Ireland’s Bar of the Year.
Since opening in 2019 as the spiritual home of Ireland’s native spirit poitín, BAR 1661 has built a strong community, using the bar as a shared platform to shape drinks, businesses and social spaces.
Founded by Dubliner Dave Mulligan, who also produces poitín under his own brand Bán, BAR 1661 takes a staunchly Irish and fiercely independent approach, working with the best small producers on the island of Ireland. Rooted in Dublin 7, the bar has earned global recognition, reaching the Spirited Awards Top 4 World’s Best Cocktail Menu, and a Top Ten Best Bar Team in Europe nomination three years running.
