At the Big Smoke Writing Factory, we provide creative writing classes and workshops for new and developing writers. Run by writers for writers, we provide a platform for writers to not only improve their work, but to share it with others. whether for the first time, around the table at a beginners' course, or with a larger audience at one of our readings or literary café events.
We offer a wide range of on-site courses and workshops including our beginning To write classes for those just starting off and a variety of specialist workshops for those interested in writing fiction, poetry, novels, children's and young adult fiction, memoir, work for the stage and screen and more. We also hold workshops relating to getting published and building a profile as a writer, for writers starting to think about submitting work for publication. We keep our classes reasonably small (12-15 maximum for beginners' classes and 10-12 for specialist courses) to maximise the individual attention each student receives during the course - we want to make sure you're getting the most out of your class or workshop! We also offer one-to-one online courses and a critique service for writers looking for feedback on particular projects.
We hold regular open days which provide potential students the opportunity to discuss with one of the Big Smoke members what they want out of a writing class and which might best suit their needs, whether you've just always wanted to write, or whether you're set on completing something for publication, we have a class for you.
From October 2011 some of our classes will also be held at: Big Smoke Writing Factory, 11 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.
