Down The Market
Dublin City, Co. Dublin
25 January 2026
Down The Market is a hybrid music & documentary film. Created by Dave Tynan and Samuel Dennigan, it was filmed over one day in the closed – and currently under renovation – Smithfield Fruit & Veg Market in Dublin 7.

The film features unaccompanied singing from Landless, Barry Gleeson and Anne Buckley, all shot in single takes. Two third-generation traders, Justin Leonard and Margaret Hanway, also share their memories of the space. In totality, the film is a remembrance, a sung and spoken elegy for a time and place now gone.

Free but ticketed event. Booking online may incur a charge.
